I really like point #1. So many people I talk to are excited about their idea because nobody is doing it or else they don’t want to do something because someone already is. I’m a believer that no competition is a worse sign than a lot of competition. If you were mining for gold back in the day, would you rather be near San Francisco where everyone was finding gold, or would you rather be in New Mexico with no competition (assuming nobody found gold in New Mexico)? The analogy is a little weak, but it gets the point across. Thanks for the great post, and keep up the legendary work.
Running and charging for webinars can be a great way to build a following in your niche, demonstrate that you are an expert in your field, and make a profit. Hosting a webinar can be hard work. They need to first be promoted, provide original and valuable information, and include interactive elements so your audience can ask questions and engage with your topic. However, once you have built up a large blog following, each webinar can be extremely profitable.
Well if you bring in 10 leads Cost you 500 Bucks and three of those buy a five thousand dollar profit product while you’ve just brought in 15 grand While spending five hundred that’s how it works But a lot of these guys Don’t tell you about the part where you have to spend the 501st right so it gives people unreal expectations because nobody tells them the truth nobody really tells them what’s involved and Because of this it leads people to have like I said unreal expectations you have people that are working part-time jobs at McDonald’s for minimum wage For a brand-new newbies to internet marketing and when you talk to them and you say well What are your goals? These are the people who have an actual product or service and are looking for an online sales force (the affiliates/publishers). They are higher in the hierarchy than a normal affiliate or a network, because they are receiving free marketing and sales promotion without paying anyone a salary. Affiliates are generally only 1 avenue of their marketing efforts, and likely spend great deals of money on other forms of online advertising.
Also, every contact is a useful, important touchpoint. We find that identifying personality types enables us to zero in with highly targetted personality-specific messages along the path to purchase. So that when the moment is right they “feel” right and choose to buy from our clients. People decide differently. Personbality marketing can guide their thinking.
By building enormous amounts of value, Facebook and Google both became tremendously successful. They didn't focus on revenues at the outset. They focused on value. And every single blog and business must do the same. While this might run contrary to someone who's short on cash and hoping that internet marketing is going to bring them a windfall overnight, it doesn't quite work that way.

Thank you for the reality check! I’m both an online and offline content developer (speaker / trainer) coming from the corporate world. So many of my peers sit in corporate day-jobs thinking, “I need to get out of here so I can make my millions.” Then we leave (yes, I was one of them!) and find out that we can’t just tomorrow put our shingles out, say we’re speakers / consultants / online marketers / whatever, and expect the masses to flock to us. Your article is good in that it is reality, yet not discouraging. In fact, you say what DOES need to be done in order to make it. So thank you for the reality check. I’m passing this on to some starry-eyed folks bent on making their millions tomorrow.
If you’re willing to take on some risk and have the heart of a true hustler, you can make extra money online doing commission-only sales for startups and other businesses. While you won’t be getting a regular salary, with the right sales strategies and skills as an inside sales rep, you can make decent money for each sale you bring in. And because you’ll most likely be working with startups, if you can negotiate a little equity you could profit big time if you're pitching a solid product and the startup succeeds.

To do that, you have to harbor a few fundamental guiding principles in your mind. Today, if you're at all serious about generating a full-time income (and more) from your online activities, then you need to focus on passive income as opposed to active income. Sure, the active income will help you survive. That's the scarcity mentality at play. But it's the passive income ideas that will help you thrive.

The beauty of YouTube is that you can continue to test out different content and styles as you find what works for you. Instead, stick to a regular schedule to build up your subscriber base.

John Carlton’s notorious 30-year career has become something of a legend among modern marketers. He started out as the “bad boy” freelance copywriter snuck through the back doors of Los Angeles advertising agencies to do the hard-core sales jobs their staff writers couldn’t pull off. He penned game-changing packages for the largest direct response mailers in the world while single-handedly also completely transforming the way print ads worked in a number of markets. And he pioneered the now-common use of killer “old school” persuasive ad-writing models for online markets when the Web finally became a viable vehicle for entrepreneurs.
