When I saw the title “5 Harsh Realities of Making a Living Online” in my Google Reader I was very happy. I agree with you, not enough people talk about the fact that it’s NOT EASY. It takes a tremendous amount of time, effort and energy – and even then you are not guaranteed the results you want. It’s basically just as risky and time consuming as building a business in the “Real” world (i.e. not online.) For some reason, people think that being “online” makes it easier – but it doesn’t.
There are free websites available but they do not look professional and I highly advise against them. Free websites and blogs can be built at blogger.com or wordpress.com but they will always have blogger, blogspot, or WordPress in the title. For example, if I had started BOLD & DETERMINED on a free platform the domain name would be boldanddetermined.wordpress.com and I would never, ever be able to change that until I purchased a real domain name. If your goal is to make a professional money making website you must purchase your own domain name(s).
I knew about this post already because I was on your “private” webinar and signed up for your course. I am really looking forward to getting rolling with you! I know you’re moderating these comments so if you do allow this to go public I would say to anyone who reads this, who is signing up for the webinar to ABSOLUTELY sign up for your course!! It is a very much needed service to a lot of people searching for answers to how to do it right online (no I don’t get paid for that). Thanks for your always informative and straight shooting insights.
As a matter of fact I have read many of these promising “make $100 per day online”. I discovered that they made empty promises and made away with once money. Leslie I will appreciate if you can take me along with you. I am prepared to learn from you. I want to know if it is possible for me to do this with you as I am a resident of Nigeria and presently residing in Nigeria

I think you need to update this post. Some websites are defunct, ShareMagnet sounds cool, I’ll check out the Gig Walk, but some seem iffy-especially if they don’t recognize my zip code? I think you should double check. I do use Swagbucks. Gazelle does NOT accept devices after a certain age or a certain “level” so sometimes, unless you are selling your 6 month old computer, ain’t worth it.
I’m very happy for how things have turned out for you and again you’re serving me as an inspiration. I’m back and ready kick ass on a new stage of my life. I’ve been working for 8 years now as an independent software consultant. I own my company, I have no debt, I don’t buy things, I live like a spartan. But I’m ready to take things to a whole new level. Consulting makes me a lot of money but I’m tired. I’m still selling my time and it often requires my physical presence. I’m ready to break those chains too. I’m now working on adding content to my site and selling e-products. It’s an insane amount of work but I don’t care. I work, work, work, polish and ship. And I have a strategy to keep churning products for the rest of the year. I’m even cutting my rent by 80% so I have more money to invest in the making of these products. Once I get the a sizable portfolio I’ll work on the e-book on how I did it and by next year the money will be rolling in. Peace out.

Another way to utilize your talent and business skills is to run corporate workshops online. Businesses are always looking for unique ways to help educate their workforce, and if you can package your talents into a day or half-day long session, you can sell that to companies all over the world to make money online. Start by building a portfolio and then reaching out on LinkedIn to influencers at relevant companies to see if they would be interested in you teaching their team.

Great read, always looking for extra ways to make a buck. I just wanted to share something I’ve been doing recently. I run an office and have noticed that unused toner was piling up in storage. Looked into returning but that was no good. Tried out the site http://www.tonerconnect.net/ and was impressed. They had quick service and that payout was nice.
If you are still doubting the legitimacy or think making a living online is  a shady deal, take a look at our guide. We have listed all the ups and downsides of making money online, in order to give you a realistic overview of how things work. I’ve read elsewhere the optimistic messages of making money online, and understand the points in your post here too. Setting realistic expectations is important. I think my problem is being paralysed by fear of both success and/or failure. I’m afraid to be successful because it means putting myself out there (chronically shy), and scared shitless of failure for obvious reasons (generally around life security). This keeps me paralysed from doing anything… and in the end, that’s the greatest failure of all I guess. Well, that’s my takeout from what’s written here – perhaps that wasn’t the message, but it’s what I heard 😉

It doesn’t work like that. The job of a blogger isn’t that easy. A blogger is a person who has a specific knowledge, understanding, or information to share with the specific audience via blog publishing. Suppose a blogger is a knowledgeable person, he keeps his research going on the specific topic (which is known as niche or category of the blog in blogging field) and has got enough material to share in a dozen of blog posts for a couple of weeks.

There are a few different ways to make money online by filling out paid surveys. Depending on the paid survey you choose, you will get different rewards. Some of the paid surveys give you direct cash to your Paypal account. You can also get points for filling the surveys that you can redeem later for gift cards from your favourite shops such as Amazon, Boots, H&M, Ikea, iTunes, GAP, Dorothy Perkins and many others. Also, you can just enter in amazing raffles and win big prizes just for registering, the more surveys you complete, the higher chances you will have at winning! But money still matters. Like everyone I speak to, NaughtyJo has things to say on the issue. She talks about the downside earning money in dollars, and the exchange rates: "With it being an American site, I have to stay up late — my son is a go-karter and it's an expensive sport. Through this site I've been able to get him racing and he is doing well. Most of the money that I make on here goes towards that."

So for all these women – whatever their age and life situation, the site's in part a way to make money, but it's simultaneously acting as a kind of social network. "I didn't expect to unearth people so comfortingly similar to me on here, but it happens more often than not," says LondonBunny. "I use MyGirlFund as its a great way to just relax and get to know people, away from the real world so to speak. I can vent, chill and also be there for others who are in need of someone to talk to. Not only that, I feel appreciated," says EnglishRose23.
