Stock brokers PHYIX This is too thin a book to be truly helpful; there's not much more information here than in many magazine articles. It might make a good one-evening read for some basic introduction, for someone who has never invested at all before. Depending on the topic, the book tends to err by being too general or too specific. For example, the critical discussion of bonds and bond laddering doesn't really give enough information to help an individual select specific bonds -- you'd need to use a broker or an asset manager to help. One the other hand, the discussion of bond mutual funds amounts to suggesting a couple specific funds -- you can do that easily enough yourself, but there's nothing to help you evaluate any other fund choices you might have.

NAVI 8 03/25/20 Banks offer a variety of terms for their deposit accounts, ranging from 3 months to 5 years. Which length of CD will work best for you depends on your timeline and how long you want your investment out of your hands. CD’s allow depositors to invest their cash for a specific length of time. The longer the term of investment, the higher the yield will be. A client wishing to receive monthly interest payments can elect to do so at the time of application. However, most individuals who buy CDs let the interest accrue until the CD matures.
Choose an Industry: Search Latest Becoming a successful investor depends primarily on what you do with your money rather than how much you have to invest. While it may take longer to build up a solid portfolio using smaller amounts, it's better to move slowly than put it off altogether. When investing with less, pay close attention to the fees associated with a particular investment, which could shrink any returns you're anticipating.
