If you're serious about making money online, start a blog. Blogging is one of the easiest and most sustainable income sources. As long as the blog is setup the right way, in the right niche, with the right content targeted at the right audience, and the offer is complementary to the content, you could make a tremendous amount of passive income from a blog.
Right now, I'm starting to reap the benefits of the kind of work that it takes to reach that level. When I started as a Freebie Trader, I literally worked every free minute (considering I also have a full-time job) specifically on Freebies to build up to where I was making $2,000 in pure profit per month. Right now, if I were to work an hour daily, I can easily make that much and beyond. However, my plan by the summer is to be making at least $10,000 in pure profit on a monthly basis. So I continue to work, but in a strategic way, with definite goals in mind, while educating myself to where I understand what it takes.
If I have a blog that is getting 100,000 page views a month that means that I’m probably getting at least 50,000 people to the site (most blogs will do between 1.2 to 1.4 pages per session). That means I have to try and get some small percentage of those people to buy something from me if I really want to do well. If I can’t get them to buy something then (in some cases) I have ads running on the site that will make me money anyways.
This is the thing that made online earning go viral. Nevertheless, blogging isn’t what it used to be. Ten years ago, people used blogs to share their experiences and personal reflections with their closest ones, much like an online diary. Things have dramatically changed, since blogging is now a competitive business. There are still people who blog for the sake of sharing, but most of them have evolved their blogs into money making machines and turned it into a full time job. So why can’t you?
Writing copy for websites is another great freelancing option for those who have a way with words. Copywriting can involve writing the text for websites, press releases, promotional offline materials including leaflets and brochures, and any other professional text for businesses. Writing copy can be better paid than blog writing. However, clients can be more fussy, as they want the highest quality writing for the forefront of their website or advertising campaigns. Many freelance writers offer both copywriting and blog writing amongst their services. This can be a good way to juggle regular but lower paid clients (blogging) with the higher paid but ad-hoc project based copy work.
Find a profitable niche: We’ve talked about this a lot. But, where are you most comfortable. What niche do your skills, values, and interests intersect? Do you have 10 years of experience as a technical writer? Do you have long-standing PR relationships that’ll be invaluable in helping startups launch a successful crowdfunding campaign? Determine what makes your value unique, and lean heavily on showcasing that strength to your potential clients.
High-ticket consulting or coaching: You could sell your own high-ticket consulting or coaching products from your website. You'll still need a website, merchant account, sales funnel, lead magnet and many other items. But you can easily earn a substantial amount of money from each individual customer, making it well worth the arduous setup required.
